There are four lists of books or library catalogs known to us that were produced in Buxheim. The first is dated around the middle of the fifteenth century, the second is a list of additions from just before 1600, the third is a comprehensive catalog from 1619, and the fourth and final catalog was created sometime in the eighteenth century, after 1710. Another source of information on library acquisitions is the so-called liber benefactorum, or list of donors from 1508, which includes annotations on, among other things, the number of books given to the charterhouse. Finally, we now have a modern catalog, published in 2013, that details those books that are once again housed in the Charterhouse Museum.
