Seymour de Ricci and W. J. Wilson released their two-volume Census of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts in the United States and Canada between 1935-37 (along with an Indices volume in 1940). This provided a wonderful snap shot for the time of those European manuscripts present in American collections, both public and private. This three-volume reference work was followed in 1962 by a supplement, completed by Bond and Faye.
The following is an excerpt from the two volumes detailing the manuscripts from Buxheim that were identified by de Ricci and Wilson at the time, with current locations if known, along with five additional manuscripts identified by Bond/Faye. Several of the private collections have since been dispersed, and the location of the manuscripts formerly in six private collections is presently unknown.
